Green Gold

Anil was walking beside the forest at the outskirts of the city. Suddenly he saw a woodcutter cutting down a huge Banyan tree. Anil saw that he had also cut down several huge trees. He rushed to the woodcutter and told him not to cut these lively trees. The woodcutter didn’t bother listening to him and continued to cut the trees. Anil warned him that with the death of a single tree the environment will be disturbed. If woodcutters and builders keep cutting trees at this vast rate then our world will become a desert planet as these cutting of trees will make trees and plants extinct in a few hundred years. The woodcutter asked, “Then what will we do? We earn money from cutting trees and selling the wood in the market. If we don’t cut trees to get wood, we will be jobless and will suffer”. “Solution is that if you need to cut trees to make money, then cut trees in a short rate like 5% trees in one year. Then you should replace the cut trees by plant the same amount of plants as you have cut” Said Anil.

Later, when Anil grew up, he also gave a lecture of that necessity saying, "Trees don't just give us fruits to eat and animals leaves to eat, it also gives the most needed product for us, oxygen pricelessly. For it our earth is cooled as it summons rain-bearing clouds. It holds firmly to the soil for protection of soil from soil erosion".

"Think, if these magnificent life-lenders vanish from the face of this world, then what would happen? Our world will be unrecognizable, barren, waterless, crop less and lifeless like a desert. When trees will be extinct, no more oxygen will be produced, only CO2, SO2 and other harmful gases will be left. The existence of animal race will be destroyed".

"Trees are blessing to the mankind as it saves our beautiful planet, Earth. So save the trees! When you cut a tree please replace it by planting another plant. This will save our planet". Everyone congratulated the great thinker. From then, people did what he said to try to make the world a better and fresh place to live in.

Moral of this story: Save the trees to save our world. If you keep cutting and reducing trees for your own comfort, then trees will become thing of the past as they maybe extinct in a few hundred years. So please, whenever you cut trees, replace it with the same amount of trees planted there. Take it seriously, trees really are like the life-giving God and because of them we are able to survive.
